Scott Gross’ Client Convicted of Manslaughter, Not Murder

Our client, Christopher O’Brien, 56, was charged with murder due to driving east in the westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway, crashing into and killing Thomas D’Eletto, 57. However, thanks to Long Island criminal defense attorney Scott Gross, O’Brien was convicted of 2nd-degree manslaughter as opposed to murder. State Supreme Court Justice Fernando Camacho, who presided over this case without a jury, stated: “I do have a reasonable doubt.”
As imagined, our client has been remorseful of his actions since the beginning. Our legal team was relentless in our pursuit of justice on behalf of our client, as murder charges in vehicular deaths are extremely rarely convicted. Attorney Scott Gross commented on the matter, stating: “The verdict is exactly what we were saying from the very beginning. The verdict is just and fair.” This story has picked up in different news outlets across the nation, and we are proud to have done our part in clearing up matters in this case.
